Weekend trip in Svaneti.

Svaneti is a most  picturesque, amazing, and unique alpine region, situated in the north-western part of the country.
The landscape of Svanetia is dominated by mountains that are separated by deep gorges. Most of the region which lies below 1,800 meters (5,904ft.) above sea level

The famous Svanetian towers erected mainly in the 9th-12th centuries, make the region’s villages more attractive. In the province are dozens of Georgian Orthodox churches and various fortified buildings. Architectural monuments of Upper Svanetia are included in a list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
From XIXth century onwards Svaneti became the object of inexhaustible interest for writers, artists, travellers, and alpinists from around the world, and they are the most frequent visitors to Svanetia. The most frequently-visited places are Mestia – centre of Upper Svanetia – and Adishi, Ipari, Kala, and Ushguli. June is the beginning of the season and a wonderful time to go.

Unforgettable Georgia

This tour is one of our most requested itineraries – a favourite, so to speak. After visiting the multiethnic, cosmopolitan city of Tbilisi and Mtskheta – an important cultural and religious centre – the itinerary follows the so-called Georgian Military Highway into more mountainous areas. The Highway, with its fantastic panoramas of mountains, grottoes, alpine meadows and ice fields, is an unforgettable experience. Another place which you will visit is Kutaisi, centre of western Georgia. Kutaisi is said to be one of the oldest cities in the world, and is associated with the well-known legend of the Golden Fleece. Towards the end of the itinerary you will spend two days in the province of Kakheti, the main area of viticulture in Georgia. The province is dotted with vineyards, forests, semi-desert areas; its ancient architectural complexes, monasteries, and churches are a perfect match to the people's hospitality, amazing cuisine, and delicious Georgian wine.
